Comfort Classics: Slow Cooker Spicy Turkey Meatball Arrabbiata

A comforting, high protein family meal made easy in the slow cooker. Tender, flavour packed turkey meatballs simmer in a rich, spicy arrabbiata sauce with spinach, then tossed with pasta for a hearty, balanced dish that’s perfect for feeding everyone with minimal effort.

Turn cooking mode on

Step 1

In a bowl, mix the mince, egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper until combined. Roll into 20 small meatballs.

500 g Lean turkey mince

1 Egg

40 g Breadcrumbs

20 g Parmesan

2 Garlic cloves

1 tsp Dried oregano

1 tsp Paprika

Salt

Black pepper

Step 2

For extra flavour, quickly brown them in your slow cooker (if hob compatible) or a non stick pan for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the onion, garlic, chilli flakes, chopped tomatoes, tomato purée, basil, oregano, smoked paprika, honey, and stock to the slow cooker. Stir well.

2 tbsp Tomato purée

1 tsp Dried basil

1 tsp Dried oregano

1 tsp Smoked paprika

150 ml Chicken stock

Step 4

Nestle the meatballs into the sauce and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.

Step 5

Around 20 minutes before serving, stir in the spinach until wilted.

Step 6

Cook the pasta separately according to packet instructions, then stir into the sauce and allow to sit for around 5 minutes to absorb the flavour.

250 g Penne pasta

Step 7

Finish with a little parmesan and enjoy!
