I didn't weigh this week. Had a weekend away last weekend and 2 meals out for my birthday this week. Back on it today so hoping for a loss next week 😊

Hi Louise, Happy belated birthday! 🎈 I hope you had a lovely day - it sounds like you really enjoyed it! You’re so right, I don’t see calorie counting as a diet at all. It’s about a lifestyle change and eating well most of the time. Life happens, and you absolutely deserve to enjoy the meal out, the birthday cocktails, and the cake. Without those moments now and then, it just isn’t sustainable. Like you said, it’s about enjoying those occasions, then drawing a line and not slipping into a cycle where it carries on for long periods. I’ve been there plenty of times over the last 12 years! 😂 But I always rein myself back in. Meal planning has been a massive part of staying on track for me, and honestly one of the biggest things that’s helped throughout my weight loss journey. It’s one of the main reasons I set up my recipe club - to help others with planning (because deciding what to eat every day is so tedious!) and to keep meals varied and exciting. No one wants to eat the same boring “healthy” meals on repeat. You are absolutely smashing it - 5 stone is incredible! I initially lost 6 stone, and I’ve been at both ends of it, including being underweight too. But my happy, ideal place is around the 5 stone mark. Xx

You hit the nail on the head. We can't eat healthy all of the time, life would be really miserable. It took years of being unhealthy to gain the weight so we can't expect to lose it in a matter of weeks. I've done the yoyo dieting for years but this time I don't see myself as on a diet. I'm making better choices and allowing myself treats that's why this time I've stuck to the journey for so long. Your recipes have massively helped with that over the last 6months as I needed something that I could make for our family tea times that we would all enjoy and take away the pain of deciding what to make every night 🤣

I've been on this journey now for a year and a half. Almost 5 stone down. It's goof to have a few days off sometimes. It's all about getting back to it :) meals are planned for the next week. I find that makes it easier. Good luck to you too and thank you ❤️

Hi - I’m new here. I’ve lost 6.6kg since 29th September. Felt like I had a bad week this week cos I just wanted to eat all the chocolate and biscuits (PMS!) but I still managed to lose a little bit so I’m relieved at that!

Hi Angie, welcome! 😊 Wow! 6.6kg since September is amazing progress, you should be really proud of yourself 👏 And honestly, The fact you still lost a little despite cravings just shows how consistent you’ve been overall - that’s a HUGE win. You’re doing great, and you’re definitely in the right place. Glad you’re here!! xx

Thank you so much Lindsey! It’s been a long struggle with my eating and weight, which I’m sure is the case for so many of us here, so I’m really pleased and I feel so much better for it! Thank you for the lovely welcome 🤗

This could be so many factors. Don’t be hard on yourself. You’ll get back on it. It’s a marathon not a sprint! 🩷

Are you still doing couch to 5k Michelle? Was excited to hear about your progress with it! 🙂 Honestly, don’t let the scales dishearten you, they are the worst indicator of progress and they fluctuate often due to so many different factors but they can be troublesome when you start exercising. 😩 xx

You’ve got this ❤️ You are doing amazing, Michelle. Please stick with it. When you start exercising after being sedentary, it’s really common for the scales to slow down, stall, or even go up. I’ve been here many, many times, and I know how disheartening it can feel - especially when you know you’ve got weight to lose. But it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. If you’re eating well, drinking plenty of water (I’m on over 1.2L a day now), and sticking to your calorie deficit, what’s usually happening is water retention. Water is one of the biggest factors that influences the scales, which is why they fluctuate so much. When you exercise, your muscles store glycogen, which is broken down into glucose to give you energy - and glycogen is stored with water. This extra water can easily mask fat loss on the scales, sometimes for weeks, especially while your body is adjusting to a new routine. As your body adapts to exercise, this water retention usually settles over time, but in the meantime the scale doesn’t always tell the full story. While that’s happening, I’d really suggest focusing on other ways to measure progress - take photos, take measurements, and pay attention to non scale wins like how you feel, how your clothes fit, or how your fitness is improving. I’ve even switched to weighing monthly before, just so I don’t become disheartened. You are making progress, even if the scales aren’t showing it yet 🤍

⬇️ 1.5 lbs Feeling really good this week! I’ve completed 4 gym workouts, hit my protein and water goals, and I’m starting to see a real difference in my body composition. Workouts are feeling so much easier, which is a huge win 🙌 Next week’s goal: keep showing up and keep going ❤️
